Sending Prayers and Support for a Powerful Journey to Freedom

Writer: Kennedy ThomasonKennedy Thomason

The Harriet Tubman Museum & Educational Center is asking our community for prayers and well wishes as our very own Linda Harris, Director of Programming and Events, and her husband David Cole travel to Texas today in preparation for an incredible and meaningful journey.

From March 3rd - 9th, they will be part of a 7-leg walking campaign covering 65 miles along historic Southern roads once trodden by freedom-seekers. With over 100 participants expected, this event is not just a walk—it is a profound tribute to the resilience and courage of those who fought for their freedom.

We ask for your prayers for safety, strength, and inspiration for all those embarking on this journey. May this event not only honor the past but also inspire deeper understanding and unity in the present.

As we send our love and encouragement, we also invite our supporters to help sustain missions like these. Events like this require resources—whether it’s for travel, historical education materials, or ensuring accessibility for all who wish to participate. Your donations help us continue this important work, bringing history to life and sharing the lessons of the past with new generations.

Thank you for being part of our extended family. Whether through prayers, well wishes, or donations, your support ensures that the spirit of freedom and perseverance lives on. Together, we continue to walk the path toward truth, education, and justice.

Look out for more posts from us this week as we update you all on this fantastic event!
