

Walking the Southern Roads to Freedom

Walking the Southern Roads to Freedom is a historical journey retracing key routes used by freedom seekers during the era of slavery. This walk follows documented escape paths, highlighting the landscapes, communities, and histories connected to these journeys.
The walk will cover a total of 64 miles with stops at significant historical sites. Participants will engage with historians, community leaders, and local experts who will share insights on the region’s role in the Underground Railroad and the broader struggle for freedom.
